I met Tim Williams about a year ago. We train together at Foster Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We got to know each other and he knew I was very much into photography and he stated that he really enjoyed my concert images and images that I captured at some of the local Comicons. He mentioned that was going to be getting married and that he asked if I would be available to capture the wedding.
I had talked to his fiancé, Felicia Owner, in passing as she came to watch Tim train at the gym. After being formally introduced to Felicia, we decided that we should sit down and discuss what they envisioned the way they would want their wedding and reception photographed.
We met about a month out and discussed the ceremony, the location, the time of day and the amount of people they expected to attend. The plan was to have a fairly short ceremony with their close friends and immediate family, at a friend’s home with a large piece of land. The ceremony was to be outside in the afternoon. Felicia and Tim said it was important for them to have images of their children - who were to be the best man, the ring bearer and the flow girl – as well as their grandparents, parents as well as aunts and uncles.
The big day came and the guests were making their way to their seats, calmly waiting for the ceremony to begin. I started getting ready and taking images of the guests, some images of the groom and his best man. Then I my way inside to capture images of the bride, along with her mother and then the maid of honor.
During the ceremony, I made sure to use a zoom lens to capture images from a distance so that way I wouldn’t be a distraction during the ceremony. The ceremony was great and also short, so it was a challenge to capture images during the ceremony. After the ceremony concluded, we did recreate some of the ceremony as well as got some images of the newlywed couple along with the children and their immediate family.
During the reception, I was able to capture images of the guest as they enjoyed the toasts given to Felicia and Tim, as well as the meal, the drinks, the cake cutting and the first dance as husband and wife.
I was able to deliver the digital images to the newlywed couple and they were very happy with the product that was delivered. They also picked out images that they wanted to have printed, which would be delivered at a later date.
I was very thankful that Felicia and Tim had selected me to capture their wedding.
If you or someone you know is in need of someone to capture your special day, please feel free to reach out to me.
