Some of you may know, I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My son Zachary also trains and we have been training with James ‘300’ Foster since 2008. Professor Foster is the owner and head instructor of Foster Jiu Jitsu in Kent WA and is a third degree black belt under Giva Santana, who is the owner and head instructor of One Jiu Jitsu. Professor Foster is also a Black Belt World Champion and has many other accomplishments and titles that he has achieved. I have been fortunate enough to receive my Black Belt from Professor Foster in February of 2016. My son Zach has made it through the kids’ ranks and was promoted to blue belt shortly after his sixteen birthday, a little over five years ago.
Professor Foster was selected to co-headline along with James Puopolo the Fight 2 Win Seattle event which was to take place at Green River Community College in Auburn, WA. Professor Foster had a scheduling conflict for the individual photo shoots so he gave me a call and asked if I had time to schedule a session with him.
The photos were taken at Professor Foster’s academy. He also wanted to have a few extra photos to use later on for other purposes. We were pretty pleased with the results and we sent them off the promoters of Fight 2 Win who then used one of the images for the main event promotional poster. I was hoping that Professor Foster would have traded me one or more of his Shoyoroll Kimonos – but we all know that is wishful thinking.
If you have been curious about or have been interested in trying out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I highly recommend contacting Professor Foster via his website.
